Imperial Capital adds directors to high-yield, distressed credit group

Minneapolis, July 12 – Imperial Capital, LLC added James Book and Daniel Derman as managing directors in its high yield and distressed credit group, according to press release.

The two hires expand Imperial’s global high-yield institutional coverage in the United States.

“We are pleased to welcome Jim and Dan to our team as they bring with them a distinguished track record of success and key relationships to complement our fixed income franchise,” Imperial president Tom Corcoran said in the release.

“The depth of their product knowledge and experience will enhance our ability to provide value for our institutional clients.”

Book joins as a managing director in the high-yield credit sales group in New York. He Book has more than 25 years of industry experience, most recently as a director of high-yield credit sales with BNP Paribas Securities Corp. focusing on U.S. and European high-yield, leveraged loans and distressed debt.

Derman joins Imperial as a managing director and senior trader to help drive the firm’s distressed and special situations trading business. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the fixed income markets with a focus on leveraged and distressed credit. Most recently, Derman was engaged in a private investment project and led several privately negotiated transactions.

Imperial is a full-service investment bank based in Los Angeles.
