Imperial Capital expands emerging markets sales, adds Gibbens in London

Chicago, April 24 – Imperial Capital Group, LLC said it continued to expand its emerging markets group by hiring John Gibbens, managing director, at Imperial Capital (International) LLP in London.

He will report to Andrew Gold, head of emerging markets sales and trading, and Brian Robertson, head of Imperial UK.

Gibbens joins Imperial UK with more than 20 years of leadership experience in relationship management and emerging markets, according to a company announcement. He most recently worked in the emerging markets sales group at Investec Bank plc. Before that, Gibbens was a managing director and ran the emerging markets credit sales and trading desk at Jefferies International Ltd. in London. He has also headed or held senior positions on emerging markets trading desks at ABN Amro/RBS, Commerzbank and Daiwa Securities Europe. He spent seven years with Deutsche Bank as a director of global markets and fixed-income secondary market trader with a focus on Eastern Europe. Gibbens has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom.
