By Paul A. Harris

St. Louis, July 10 - Imperial Capital, LLC has set up operations in New York City with key hires including Tim O'Connor, head of New York investment banking, and Neal Thomas, managing director of sales and trading.

In addition to expanding its investment banking operations into New York, Imperial Capital has also grown its equity presence significantly, Thomas told Prospect News on Tuesday.

Thomas was formerly managing director at Dahlman Rose & Co.

O'Connor was formerly co-head of restructuring at Jefferies & Co.

On the investment banking side, Imperial has also hired Mark Hootnick and Richard NeJame, both managing directors of investment banking, and Eric Moxham, senior vice president of investment banking.

All three will report to O'Connor.

Sales side hires include Jeff Silverman and Mark Danchak, senior vice presidents, Farukh Farooqi, managing director and desk analyst, and vice presidents Michael Kahan and Krystyna Bialecki, all of whom will report to Thomas.

Los Angeles-based Imperial Capital is a full-service investment bank with a focus on the below investment-grade debt markets.
