RBC makes Whistle Stop Tour at AACC

RBC Capital Markets analyst viewed the latest offerings from Abbott/Celera, Beckman Coulter, Dade Behring, Gen-Probe, Immucor and Roche as part of the second annual RBC Whistle Stop Tour during the AACC annual meeting,.

Offerings for the small- to mid-volume testing market seemed to be a recurring theme among tour participants, according to the analyst.

Highlights from the tour included top pick Abbott's real-time PCR instrument, developed in conjunction with Celera, outperform-rated Immucor's mid-volume typing and screening instrument, the Echo and two products from sector perform-rated Dade Behring, StreamLAB and the Vista.

Outperforming Beckman Coulter featured its DxC 600i instrument for the mid-volume lab while Roche displayed its cobas 6000 integrated (chemistry and immunochemistry) analyzer.

The analyst also viewed outperform-rated Gen-Probe's Tigris instrument.
