S&P gives AA- to University of Chicago Medical Center debt

Standard & Poor's said it assigned an AA- rating to the Illinois Finance Authority's $296 million series 1994C, 1998, 2001 and 2003 bonds previously issued on behalf of University of Chicago Medical Center.

The outlook is stable.

The medical center plans to borrow the first $175 million in early 2009 to fund a new $700 million hospital.
