Fitch rates Commonwealth Edison, Ill., bonds A+/F1+, AA-/F1+

Fitch Ratings said is assigned a rating of A+/F1+ to the Illinois Finance Authority's $50 million of pollution control revenue refunding bonds (Commonwealth Edison Co. project), series 2008D, and a rating of AA-/F1+ to the $91 million of series 2008F bonds.

The ratings are based on irrevocable direct-pay letters of credit from SunTrust Bank for series 2008D and from JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA for series 2008F.

SunTrust's long-term A+ rating is on negative watch.

Delivery of the bonds is expected on May 9.
