S&P gives AA to Illinois G.O. bonds

Standard & Poor's said it assigned an AA standard long-term rating to Illinois' $125 million of general obligation bonds, series of April 2008.

The outlook is stable.

At the same time, S&P said it affirmed the AA standard long-term rating and underlying rating on the state's previously issued G.O. debt.
