Kuwait's IIG Funding restructuring proposal negotiations now underway

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Feb. 13 - IIG Funding Ltd. is in "constructive negotiations" on a restructuring proposal, according to a news release.

As previously reported, some of the certificate holders instructed the delegate for the $200 million of trust certificates (sukuk al-mudarabah) due 2012 to temporarily suspend enforcement in May 2011 in order to allow IIG to make an acceptable restructuring proposal.

IIG is an Al Safaa, Kuwait, investment company.
