S&P lowers ratings on bonds of Icici, HDFC banks

Standard & Poor's said it lowered the long-term Greater China regional scale issue rating on bonds issued by the Bahrain branches of Icici Bank Ltd. and HDFC Bank Ltd. to cnBBB+ from cnA-.

The agency also said it affirmed the BBB- long-term issue ratings on these bonds.

S&P also said it lowered the Greater China regional scale ratings on the bonds following the launch of new national- and regional-scale mapping tables.

The BBB- sovereign rating on Bahrain maps to a cnBBB+ Greater China regional scale rating for the bonds.
