S.A.C. buys more shares of i2, suggests company sell

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 3 - Investors led by S.A.C. Capital Advisors, LLC bought 20,000 shares of i2 Technologies, Inc. between Aug. 1 and Sept. 5 priced from $15.15 to $16.49 each.

The transactions were reported in a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

S.A.C. and the reporting persons own 1,905,806 shares, or 8.9%, of the Dallas-based supply chain management solutions company.

The investors originally acquired the stock for investment purposes. S.A.C. believes that the company's assets, including intellectual property, tax attributes and ongoing operations, are undervalued and are not appropriately reflected in the price of its common stock. The reporting persons believe that the best way for i2 to increase shareholder value would be through a public sale of the company, according to the filing.
