Humana calls $500 million 6.3%, 7.2% notes due 2018 for redemption

Columbus, Ohio, Nov. 29 – Humana Inc. called its $300 million principal amount of 6.3% senior notes due Aug. 1, 2018 and its $500 million principal amount of 7.2% senior notes due June 15, 2018 for redemption, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company will redeem the notes on Dec. 29 at the greater of par and the sum of the present values of the remaining scheduled payments on the notes, excluding interest accrued to the redemption date, discounted to the redemption date on a semiannual basis at the Treasury yield plus 30 basis points for the 6.3% notes and 50 bps for the 7.2% notes. The company will also pay accrued interest to the redemption date.

The paying agent is Bank of New York Mellon Trust Co., NA.

Humana is a health care and insurance company based in Louisville, Ky.
