HSBC plans buffered AMPS with cap due 2021 tied to S&P 500

Olympia, Wash., July 11 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due Aug. 5, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of any index gain, up to a maximum return of at least 17.25%.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on July 31.
The Cusip number is 40435URQ9.
