HSBC plans two-year buffered AMPS with cap tied to Russell 2000

Chicago, March 5 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due April 5, 2021 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of any index gain, up to a maximum return of at least 19.3%.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on March 29.
The Cusip number is 40435UHK3.
