New Issue: HSBC sells $8.5 million three-year capped trigger gears tied to S&P 500

Chicago, Oct. 19 – HSBC USA Inc. priced $8.5 million of 0% trigger gears due Sept. 30, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus double any index gain, up to a maximum return of 30%.
If the index finishes falls by up to 25%, the payout will be par.
Otherwise, investors will be fully exposed to any losses.
