HSBC plans buffered PLUS due 2020 with 36% cap linked to Topix

Chicago, March 22 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Performance Leveraged Upside Securities due Oct. 5, 2020 linked to the Topix index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of any index gain, up to a maximum return of 36%.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will be exposed to any losses beyond 10%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management handling distribution.

The notes will price on March 29.

The Cusip number is 40435M698.
