HSBC plans 4.52% seven-year buffered notes linked to Russell 2000

Chicago, Aug. 8 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 4.52% buffered notes due Sept. 3, 2024 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Interest is payable quarterly, with the exact rate to be set at pricing.
The payout at maturity will be par unless the index falls by more than 15%, in which case investors will be exposed to any losses beyond the buffer.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on Aug. 28 and settle on Aug. 31.
The Cusip number is 40435FDW4.
