HSBC plans five-year buffered uncapped notes linked to S&P 500

Morgantown, W.Va., March 27 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered uncapped market participation securities due March 31, 2022 tied to the S&P 500 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 25% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 25%. The buffer will be at least 25% and will be set at pricing.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on March 28.
The Cusip number is 40433UU61.
