HSBC plans to price 2.5-year buffered AMPS linked to Russell 2000

Norfolk, Va., Feb. 17 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due Aug. 30, 2019 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
If index increases, the payout at maturity will be par plus two times the return, subject to a maximum return of at least 23.5%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
If the index falls by up to 10%, the payout at maturity will be par.
Investors will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on Feb. 23 and settle on Feb. 28.
The Cusip number is 40433UQ25.
