HSBC plans leveraged buffered capped notes due 2019 tied to MSCI EAFE

Chicago, Dec. 27 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes due in 22 to 25 months linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,211.50 to $1,248.70 for each $1,000 principal amount.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 15% and will lose 1.1765% for each 1% decline beyond 15%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the underwriter.
The Cusip number is 40433UJ72.
