HSBC eyes buffered digital notes tied to Dow Jones Industrial Average

Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 20 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered digital notes due Jan. 31, 2022 linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the index return is positive, investors will receive the greater of the return and the digital upside payment which is expected to fall between 18% to 23% and will be set at pricing. Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 20%.

Otherwise, investors will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 20%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes (Cusip: 40433UG83) will price on Jan. 26 and settle on Jan. 31.
