HSBC plans 18- to 21-month leveraged buffered notes tied to MSCI EAFE

Morgantown, W.Va., Aug. 22 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% capped leveraged buffered notes due in 18 to 21 months linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,177.45 to $1,208.65 per $1,000 principal amount.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 12.5% and will lose 1.1429% for each 1% decline beyond 12.5%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The Cusip number is 40433UTQ9.
