HSBC plans buffered lookback allocator notes linked to index basket

Chicago, Aug. 4 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered lookback allocator securities due Aug. 19, 2019 linked to a basket of three indexes, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The basket consists of the Russell 2000 index, the S&P 500 index and the Euro Stoxx 50 index, with allocation to the basket components based on their performance: 40% for the basket component with the best index return, 35% for the basket component with the second-best index return and 25% for the basket component with the lowest index return.
The payout at maturity will be par plus any basket gain.
Investors will receive par if the basket falls by up to 10% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on Aug. 12 and settle on Aug. 17.
The Cusip number is 40434V228.
