HSBC plans barrier AMPS linked to iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF

Columbus, Ohio, Oct. 19 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% barrier Accelerated Market Participation Securities due April 30, 2019 linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets exchange-traded fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
If the fund return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times the fund return, subject to a maximum return that is expected to be at least 58% and will be set at pricing. Investors will receive par if the fund declines by 25% or less and will be fully exposed to losses if it declines beyond 25%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes are expected to price on Oct. 23 and settle on Oct. 30.
The Cusip number is 40433UAQ9.
