HSBC plans 2.5-year buffered AMPS with cap tied to Energy Select SPDR

Chicago, March 3 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due Sept. 26, 2017 linked to the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus double any gain in the fund, up to a maximum return of at least 21%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 10% and will be exposed to any losses beyond 10%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes will price on March 23 and settle on March 26.

The Cusip number is 40433BF37.
