HSBC plans 3.5-year barrier AMPS with cap linked to iShares MSCI EM

Chicago, Nov. 4 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% barrier Accelerated Market Participation Securities due June 1, 2018 linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets exchange-traded fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any gain in the fund, up to a maximum return of at least 48%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 25% and will be fully exposed to any losses if the fund finishes below the 75% barrier.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on Nov. 21 and settle on Dec. 1.
The Cusip number is 40433BTN8.
