HSBC plans PLUS with 21% cap linked to iShares MSCI Emerging Markets

Chicago, Jan. 15 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% Performance Leveraged Upside Securities due August 2015 linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets index fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus triple any fund gain, up to a maximum return of at least 21%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will be exposed to any losses.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC as the dealer.

The notes will price on Jan. 31 and settle on Feb. 5.

The Cusip number is 40434B396.
