HSBC plans 18-month buffered AMPS with cap linked to Russell 2000

Madison, Wis., April 16 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due Oct. 22, 2014 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any index gain, up to a maximum return of at least 9%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 15% and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond 15%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.
The notes will price on April 17 and settle on April 22.
The Cusip number is 40432XEC1.
