New Issue: HSBC prices $3.39 million buffered uncapped market participation notes tied to basket

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Dec. 5 - HSBC USA Inc. priced $3.39 million of 0% buffered uncapped market participation securities due Dec. 6, 2018 linked to a basket containing the S&P 500 index with an 80% weight and the iShares MSCI EAFE index fund with a 20% weight, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus any gain in the basket. Investors will receive par if the basket falls by up to 20% and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond 20%.
