HSBC USA plans 13-month 0% AMPS on iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 fund

New York, Aug. 31 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% Accelerated Market Participation Securities due Oct. 27, 2011 linked to the iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 index fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus triple any index fund gain, subject to a maximum return of 24% to 29% that will be set at pricing. Investors will be exposed to any index fund decline.

The notes (Cusip 4042K05C5) are expected to price on Sept. 23 and settle on Sept. 28.
