HSBC plans to price two-year AMPS linked to FTSE 100 index

Tacoma, Wash., May 6 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% Accelerated Market Participation Securities due May 2012 linked to the FTSE 100 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus five times any index gain, subject to a maximum return of 35.5% to 45.5% that will be set at pricing. Investors will be exposed to any index decline.
The notes will price and settle in May.
