New Issue: HSBC USA prices $1.57 million enhanced market participation notes linked to S&P 500

Philadelphia, May 22 - HSBC USA Inc. priced $1,565,000 of 0% enhanced market participation notes due Aug. 25, 2009 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 300% of any index gain, subject to a maximum return of 20%. Investors will be fully exposed to any index decline.
