HSBC Bank USA to price Pacific Rim Opportunity CDs linked to index basket

Tacoma, Wash., Dec. 11 - HSBC Bank USA, NA plans to price 0% Pacific Rim Opportunity certificates of deposit due Dec. 31, 2012 linked to a basket of indexes, according to a term sheet.

The basket includes equal weights of the Hang Seng China, the Nikkei 225 Stock Average, the Korea Stock Exchange Kospi 200 and the MSCI Taiwan indexes.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any basket gain. Investors will receive at least par.

The CDs will be putable, and the redemption amount will be the then-current market value of the CDs.

The CDs are expected to price on Dec. 20 and settle on Dec. 31.
