Moody’s: HSBC Bank Malaysia to negative

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd.'s A1 local currency deposit rating and revised the outlook to negative from stable.

At the same time, the agency affirmed the bank's A3 foreign currency deposit rating with a stable outlook.

The outlook change on HSBC Bank Malaysia’s A1 local currency deposit rating follows today's decision to change the outlook to negative from stable for parent bank Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp. Ltd. (Aa2 negative, aa3).

The short-term deposit ratings were also affirmed. The bank's assessments remain unchanged.
