Hovnanian Enterprises files $500 million shelf

Washington, June 10 - Hovnanian Enterprises Inc. filed a $500 million shelf in an S-3 registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The filing allows for preferred stock, class A common stock, debt securities, depositary shares, warrants, stock purchase contracts and units, and convertibles.

The Red Bank, N.J.-based homebuilder said offerings authorized by the shelf would be used for general corporate purposes.
