Moody's affirms Household

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed the A1 long-term and Prime-1 short-term debt ratings of Household Finance Corp., raised Household's International Inc.'s long-term senior debt rating to A1 from A2, and assigned a Prime-1 rating to Household's short-term debt.

Moody's took these actions in anticipation of the merger of Household Finance Corp. with and into Household. At the same time, the outlook for Household's long-term debt ratings was changed to positive from stable.

Moody's said that the change in Household's outlook to positive from stable reflects the increasing integration of the company and its businesses within the HSBC organization.
