Moody’s: Horace Mann view to positive

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed the A3 insurance financial strength rating of Horace Mann Educators Corp.’s property casualty (P&C) subsidiaries and changed the outlook to positive from stable.

The positive outlook reflects Horace Mann P&C's reduced catastrophe exposure in recent years, good overall profitability and strong risk-adjusted capitalization, the agency said.

The action harmonizes the outlook for the company's P&C operations with the positive outlook on Horace Mann Educators’ debt ratings and life insurance operations.
