Fitch: Horace Mann view up to stable

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Horace Mann Educators Corp.'s issuer default rating at BBB and $199.5 million senior notes at BBB-, along with the ratings of its insurance subsidiaries.

The outlook is revised to stable from negative.

The outlook revision reflects Horace Mann's improved earnings and favorable investment results, which have been negatively impacted over the last two years by challenging capital markets, Fitch said.

The ratings continue to reflect the adequacy of its risk-based capitalization at the current rating category, the agency said, and solid earnings, despite their volatility due to weather-related losses.
