Moody’s assigns Baa2 to notes guaranteed by HKT

Moody’s Investors Service said it assigned a Baa2 rating to the proposed dollar-denominated senior unsecured notes to be offered by HKT Capital No. 5 Ltd., a direct and wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Telecommunications Ltd.

The proposed notes will be jointly and severally guaranteed by HKT and its parent, HKT Group Holdings Ltd.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including refinancing debt.

The outlook is stable.
