American Bankruptcy Institute new officers, directors elected

Pittsburgh, April 25 - The American Bankruptcy Institute announced the new officers and directors elected at its annual spring meeting.
New members of the executive committee and new officers include;
• President Reggie Jackson of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, one-year term, succeeding Judge Wesley Steen of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of Texas, who now assumes the position of immediate-past president;
• President elect John W. Ames of Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald PLLC;
• Chairman of the board John Penn of Haynes and Boone LLP, one-year term;
• Vice president of publications Geoffrey L. Berman of Development Specialists, Inc., two-year term, succeeding Ames;
• Vice president international Josefina Fernandez McEvoy of K&L Gates LLP; and
• Secretary judge Eugene R. Wedoff of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, succeeding Dillon E. Jackson of Foster Pepper PLLC.
Eight new members were elected to the 60-member ABI board of directors, including Chip Bowles of Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC; Howard Brod Brownstein of NachmanHaysBrownstein Inc.; judge Dennis Dow of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri; Bruce Harwood of Sheehan, Phinney, Bass & Green; Jean Maess of Thomson West; Lynn Tavenner of Tavenner & Beran plc; Deborah Thorne of Barnes & Thornburg LLP; and R. Scott Williams of Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker LLC.
Directors reappointed for another three-year term include president Jackson; president elect Ames; Peter Antoszyk of Proskauer Rose LLP; Matt Bordwin of Keen Consultants, LLC; Ralph Brubaker of the University of Illinois College of Law; Melyssa Barrett of Visa USA Inc.; Francis Conway of Mercer Management Consulting; Peter Kaufman of Gordian Group LLC; Melissa Knoll of Mesirow Financial Consulting LLC; Bruce Nathan of Lowenstein Sandler PC; Nancy Peterman of Greenberg Taurig, LLP; and Chester Salomon of Stevens & Lee PC.
The institute is an Alexandria, Va.-based multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on insolvency matters.
