Home Interiors DIP hearing postponed to May 29 to allow creditors committee time to review motion

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., May 19 - Home Interiors & Gifts Inc.'s hearing for final approval of its debtor-in-possession financing was postponed to May 29 by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas at the request of the company's official committee of unsecured creditors.

The court also extended the deadline for the creditors committee to file a response to the DIP motion to May 27.

The DIP hearing was originally scheduled for May 19; however, the creditors committee requested more time to review the DIP financing motion. The committee was formed on May 14, and the committee said it has since been reviewing the DIP and cash collateral motions.

Home Interiors & Gifts is a Dallas-based integrated manufacturer and distributor of home decorative accessories. The company filed for bankruptcy on April 29. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-31961.
