Home Interiors' creditors committee seeks more time to review DIP financing motion

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 16 - Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc.'s official committee of unsecured creditors is asking the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas to postpone the final hearing on approval of the company's debtor-in-possession financing to give the newly formed committee more time to review the DIP financing motion, according to a Thursday court filing.

Specifically, the committee is asking the court to postpone the final hearing to May 29 from May 19, and to extend its deadline to file a response to the motion to May 27.

According to the motion, the committee was formed on May 14.

Since then, the committee said it has been reviewing the DIP financing and cash collateral use motions, while it also attempts to apprise itself of issues related to Home Interiors' bankruptcy case and to confer with the company and other principal parties.

Home Interiors & Gifts is a Dallas-based integrated manufacturer and distributor of home decorative accessories. The company filed for bankruptcy on April 29. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-31961.
