American Airlines to sell $450 million senior secured notes due 2012

St. Louis, Sept. 23 - American Airlines, Inc. plans to price a $450 million offering of senior secured notes (B2) due 2012 on Thursday or Friday, according to a market source.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. are leading the Rule 144A and Regulation S offering.

Proceeds will be used to refinance an existing $432 million term loan.

The prospective issuer is a Fort Worth-based passenger air carrier.
