hhgregg operating loss grows to $39.58 million in April; sales down

Pittsburgh, May 31 – hhgregg, Inc. reported a $39.58 million operating loss for April on $72.42 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

In comparison, hhgregg posted a $20.58 million operating loss for March on $93.41 million in net sales.

The net loss for April was $47.77 million, widening from a $20.94 million March net loss.

In addition, hhgregg had $1.69 million in cash as of April 30, down slightly from $1.7 million at the end of March.

hhgregg is an Indianapolis-based specialty retailer of consumer electronics and home appliances. The company filed bankruptcy on March 6 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana under Chapter 11 case number 17-01302.
