Hereford Biofuels case conversion hearing pushed back to Sept. 9

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., July 29 - Hereford Biofuels, LP's hearing on the company's motion to convert its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case to Chapter 7 was adjourned to Sept. 9, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The hearing was originally scheduled for Wednesday.

As previously reported, Hereford believes that with its principal assets having been sold, a Chapter 7 trustee would be able to effectively liquidate any remaining assets and distribute the proceeds to shareholders.

Dallas-based Panda Ethanol, Inc. develops ethanol fuel plants. Its Hereford subsidiaries filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 29, 2009. Their Chapter 11 cases are being administered under case number 09-30453.
