Hercules repurchased $27 million 11 1/8% notes for $31.1 million during second quarter

New York, Aug. 5 - Hercules Inc. said it bought back $27.0 million of its 11 1/8% senior notes for $31.1 million during the second quarter, according to a 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Specifically in April and May, the Wilmington, Del., company repurchased $9.9 million of the notes for $11.3 million.

As already reported, the company's board authorized it to periodically repurchase up to $200 million of its outstanding debt.

During the first half of 2005, the company bought back $52.8 million of the notes for $61.4 million.

During the first half of 2004, cash flows of the manufacturer of specialty chemicals included the repurchase of $66.4 million of the notes for $79.2 million.
