Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 22 - Helicos BioSciences Corp. priced a private placement of units for $18.6 million on Dec. 19, according to an 8-K filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company will sell 42,753,869 units at $0.435 apiece. The units each consist of one common share and one warrant for 0.6 shares, with each whole warrant exercisable at $0.45 for five years.
Settlement is expected Dec. 23.
Helicos develops instruments and reagents for the high-speed sequencing of DNA and RNA with the highest possible sensitivity. The company is based in Cambridge, Mass.
