Heilig-Meyers posts $404,000 October loss on sales of $27.67 million

Washington, Dec. 15 - Heilig-Meyers reported a $404,000 loss in October on sales of $27.67 million, according to a monthly operating report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Wednesday.
For September, the Richmond, Va.-based furniture retailer reported a $1.98 million loss on sales of $28.34 million
Operating income was $106,000 compared with a $130,000 loss in September.
Cash on Oct. 31 was $4.8 million compared with zero cash on Sept. 30.
Heilig-Meyers filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 16, 2000 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Its Chapter 11 case number is 00-34533.
