AMC Entertainment gets extension from lenders to file Q3 report

By Ted A. Knutson

Washington, Feb.15 - AMC Entertainment Inc. said its credit facility lenders have agreed to let the company have until April 15 to file its 10-Q report with the Securities and Exchange Commission for the 39 weeks ending Dec.30.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based movie theater chain said it was late in preparing the report because of unresolved accounting issues concerning its Dec. 23 merger with Marquee Inc.

AMC noted the deadline that was missed is also contained in covenants for its 9½% senior subordinated notes due 2011, 9 7/8% senior subordinated notes due 2012 and 8% senior subordinated notes due 2014.

In addition, if the company does not file its third quarter 10-Q by Feb. 22, it will miss its deadline for providing financial statements to the holders of its 8 5/8% senior notes due 2014 and senior floating-rate notes due 2010.

AMC made the announcement in an 8-K filing with the SEC.
