HCA files automatic shelf

New York, March 31 - HCA Inc. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are debt securities, common stock, preferred stock, guarantees, warrants and units. Debt securities and preferred stock may be structured as convertibles.

HCA will use proceeds for general corporate purposes.

HCA is a Nashville, Tenn., holding company, which has affiliates that own and operate hospitals and other related health care entities.
