Hawker Beechcraft operating loss widens to $540 million in December

Pittsburgh, Jan. 28 - Hawker Beechcraft, Inc. posted a $540 million operating loss for December on total sales of $260.5 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

In comparison, Hawker Beechcraft reported a $6.4 million operating loss for November on total sales of $136.3 million.

The net loss for December was $534.9 million, compared with $30.9 million of net income in November.

The company reported cash and cash equivalents of $207 million as of Dec. 31, up from $124.6 million at the end of November.

Hawker Beechcraft is a Wichita, Kan.-based manufacturer of business, special mission, light attack and trainer aircraft. The company filed for bankruptcy on May 3, 2012. The Chapter 11 case number is 12-11873.
